More about us. Our first principles

We are going to begin sharing more about who we are, why we exist and what we are doing. I hope you will join us on this journey, perhaps vicariously or even better get involved.

First Principles

Our axioms, until proven otherwise we hold these to be true.

  • Consciousness has intrinsic value and meaning. As conscious beings, we should seek to preserve, enrich, and elevate consciousness.

  • Truth and knowledge empower freedom. Accurate, truthfully presented information allows individuals to perceive reality clearly and make informed choices.

  • Language and technology enable the accumulation and transmission of knowledge across generations. They amplify our ability to learn from the past.

  • Information pathways shape our worldviews. Flawed or misleading information distorts our understanding of reality.

Chain of Logic

We believe the following chain of logic stems from our first principles, until proven otherwise we act as though this is true.

  1. As conscious beings, we find meaning and purpose through our subjective experiences. Consciousness represents a profound phenomenon in the universe that should be sustained and elevated.

  2. To act effectively, we must first have a useful perception of reality. So that we can map actions to outcomes and make effective decisions.

  3. The accuracy and truthfulness of knowledge determines how well we can perceive and act within reality. Better information leads to better outcomes.

  4. Knowledge builds on itself over generations through language, media, and technology. Accurate transmission prevents regression and empowers progress.

  5. However, incentives can become misaligned in information pathways, resulting in the propagation of misleading or untruthful content.

  6. When flawed information spreads, it pollutes the collective understanding of reality shared across society.

  7. With distorted perceptions of reality, individuals and institutions make misguided decisions that lead to suboptimal, unethical, or harmful outcomes.

  8. Therefore, improving information quality enhances society's perception of truth and empower individuals to act effectively based on reality.

  9. To do this, we must outcompete compromised information channels, creating transformative information products optimised for truthfulness and practical value.

  10. This requires focus, rapid iteration, feedback loops, and innovation to achieve an accelerating rate of progress.

  11. Our goal is to empower truth, freedom of thought, and effective action by improving access to high quality information. This will contribute to human flourishing and elevate our consciousness.
